been shortlisted for our 2017 Poetry Competition.  Names are in alphabetical order.

First, second and third prizes  in each competition will be announced by judges Mario Petrucci and Rebecca Gethin, at Teignmouth Poetry Festival 2017,  when all shortlisted poets are invited to read their poems at the awards ceremony.

JUDGE -  OPEN COMPETITION -  MARIO PETRUCCI
Mario Petrucci
 is an award-winning poet, freelance educator, film-maker and eco- physicist.  Shortlisted for the 2012 Ted Hughes Award, his 3D poetry soundscape Tales from the Bridge was a centrepiece of London’s Cultural Olympiad.  His many prizes include the Daily Telegraph/ Arvon Prize (for Heavy Water: a poem for Chernobyl, 2004) and four outright wins in the London Writers Competition.  He is the only poet to have held residency at the Imperial War Museum. His 18 poetry volumes include Eugenio Montale's Xenia, winner of a coveted PEN Translates Award (October 2016).  A tireless innovator and tutor, he is a Fellow of the Royal Literary Fund.

JUDGE -  LOCAL COMPETITION – REBECCA GETHIN
Rebecca Gethin lives on Dartmoor which inspires some of her work. She has had two poetry collections published, the latest being A Handful of Water (Cinnamon Press, 2013) and she has two pamphlets about to be released.
